- Q. Do I have to register to use the forums?A. You can enter as a guest and read posts, but you must register before you can post or answer a post that's already there. Registering is quick, simple, and free. Please join us.
- Q. What sorts of posts are prohibited here?A. Profanity, name calling, and personal attacks or flames will not be tolerated; such posts will be deleted. What constitutes an unacceptable post is solely up to the discretion of the Guide. As well, keep in mind that kids and teens often visit the forum, so keep posts clean and appropriate for all ages. Also, visitors are expected to adhere to About's Terms of Use. Disputive visitors will be gagged or banned from the forum at the Guide's discretion.
- Q. What can be discussed here?A. Anything related to exotic pets of any kind. Feel free to ask questions, comment on exotic pet related issues or simply share personal experiences with your pets. Sometimes people have very strong opinions about keeping certain kinds of animals as pets, and all viewpoints are welcome here as long as people show respect to all members. I don't mind off topic discussion in the name of friendly chatting, so long as the rest of the rules of the forum are followed.
- Q. Is the forum "child-safe"?A. No - although inappropriate posts will be removed as soon as possible the board is not continuously monitored. The board is intended for all ages, however, so please post accordingly.
- Q. May I promote my product or Web site here?A. You may make your URL part of your "signature" by typing it under your name at the end of your posts, but please do not place strictly commercial posts on the forum. They will be considered spam and be deleted. Exceptions may be made for "pets wanted" or "pets for sale" posts, since we get so many people looking for particular types of pet.
- Q. Where do I report problems?A. To report inappropriate post, email the Guide to Exotic Pets. To report technical problems with the forum, use this form (fill out as much detail as possible) and About's Customer Care Department will help.
